Chronicles from extraction to demolition



Com o tema central da Terra, a Trienal de Arquitetura de Lisboa de 2022 foi dividida em quatro exposições e foi a intitulada 'Ciclos' que mais chamou a atenção como Ruinorama Collective pela sua afinidade com os temas que estávamos a debater. Queríamos propor algo que fosse na direção oposta à proeminência da imagem e dos projetos construídos, algo que procurasse distanciar-se da cadeia de construção que estávamos questionando, daí a escolha de uma intervenção sadia. Não procurávamos uma linguagem académica, mas sim um conjunto de crônicas (reais, ficcionais ou especulativas) escritas por cada um de nós, que se limitam a um lugar despretensioso e facilmente escutável, desaceleradas, como aquelas deliciosas crônicas que lemos nos jornais de domingo de manhã. Num dos maiores eventos de arquitetura do mundo, escolhemos apenas palavras no vento.

With the central theme of Terra (Earth), the Lisbon Architecture Triennale of 2022 was divided into four exhibitions, and it was the one titled 'Cycles' that attracted our attention the most as the Ruinorama Collective due to its affinity with the issues we had been debating. We wanted to propose something that went in the opposite direction of the prominence of image and built projects, something that sought to distance itself from the construction industry chain that we were questioning, hence the choice of a sound intervention. We did not seek academic language, but rather a collection of chronicles (real, fictional, or speculative) written by each of us, bordering on an unpretentious and easily listenable place, slowed down, like those delightful chronicles we read in the newspapers on a Sunday morning. At one of the major architecture events in the world, we chose only words in the wind.
